Uniform
We expect all students to be in full school uniform and be suitably dressed for P.E., Games and Swimming. Should you have a problem with your uniform, you will need to write a note for the Achievement Team Leader.

Scooters - electric or otherwise - are not to be brought into school. |

Money should be kept in a purse or wallet. Confiscated items must be collected by a parent. |

Mobile Phones and all Digital Devices
From September, the school has introduced phone pouches as part of our strengthened approach to mobile phones and digital devices during the school day.
Pupils are permitted to bring a mobile phone to school for their journey to and from school. However, before entering the school site, phones and connected digital devices must be switched off and secured in the pupil’s phone pouch. Devices must remain secured and inaccessible throughout the school day, including during lessons, lesson changeover, breaktime and lunchtime.
This approach is in line with Department for Education guidance, which expects schools to ensure pupils do not have access to mobile phones throughout the school day. The guidance also refers to smart technology with similar functionality such as devices that can send or receive messages, access the internet, take photographs or record audio/video.
This policy applies to:
- mobile phones
- smart watches
- earbuds or headphones with connected functions
- any device capable of receiving messages, accessing the internet, taking photographs or recording
The phone pouch is part of each pupil’s daily school equipment and must be brought to school every day. Tutors will check pouches during morning form time. If a pupil forgets their pouch, this will be treated as forgetting school equipment and a 20-minute detention will be issued. The pupil will be required to collect a temporary pouch from the office so that their phone is not unsecured during the school day.
If a phone or connected digital device is seen outside the pouch on school grounds, or if a pupil tampers with the pouch in any way, this will be treated as a serious breach of school expectations. This includes damaging the pouch, preventing it from locking, using another object in the pouch, or attempting to open it with an unofficial magnet. The device will be confiscated and held at reception. A parent, carer or trusted adult will be required to collect it.
At the end of the school day, pupils may unlock their pouch at the designated unlocking points near the Assembly Hall and Sports Hall as they leave the school site. Pupils should then remove their phone, close the pouch and put both away safely before travelling home.
If a pupil needs to contact home during the school day, they should speak to reception, their Head of Year, the pastoral team or another trusted adult. Parents and carers who need to contact their child during the school day should do so through the school office.
Where a pupil has an agreed medical, SEND or safeguarding need, appropriate arrangements will be considered by the school.
