Yr 11 trip to Paris
BackYear 11 trip to Paris
70 year 11 pupils set of for four days in Paris with the aim of speaking as much French as possible. The coach left early on the morning of le trois octobre to catch the ferry to Calais and the trajet down to Paris.
The first evening allowed pupils the opportunity to manger in a typical French restaurant beside the Arc de Triomphe and then we arrived at ’hôtel after a long day.
The first full day in Paris was full and allowed everyone to get a flavour of the French capital. A visit to a marché with the aroma of fromage was a great opportunity to speak un peu de français. The group then set off to visit a parfumerie to find out about the process of perfume making and spend some Euros on the end product. A walk past the Eiffel Tower allowed everyone to be amazed at just how tall the structure is and we then spent a couple of hours cruising down the Seine by bateau and a chance to see Paris from the water. There was then a bit of time a pied through Montmartre with a bit of time to acheter some authentic products – le fastfood? A repas in a restaurant before returning to the hotel was enjoyed by all.
The group then had an unwind opportunity at the parc d’attractions Disneyland where pupils could relax, eat, shop and be thrown around by rides.
All too quickly we reached jour quatre and the trip was coming to an end.
All staff involved were extremely impressed by the conduct and attitude of all of the pupils. Paris was exceptionally busy but the Abbs Cross pupils were a real credit to the school in every activity. A very positive experience was had by all and all pupils had a great introduction to the ville capitale de la France.
