Year 10 Art Trip To Haworth Tomkins - Friday 7th June 2024

Y10 Art students visit to Haworth Tomkins architecture studio – 7 th June 2024
14 Year 10 Art students visited Haworth Tomkins architecture studio near the Barbican for an
employer insight day on Friday 7 th June.

The visit was facilitated by the architecture charity Open
City. Students gained an understanding of the responsibilities of someone working for an
architecture studio and what subjects and pathways they could follow after their GCSE’s to become
architects. Haworth Tomkins employs 80 staff and works on culturally oriented buildings such as
schools, galleries and also housing with a pledge to act on climate change. Abbs Cross students
toured the studio, met and talked with architects and completed a section drawing of a music room
and shared their ideas in a group discussion at the end of the visit.
