Consultation on 2026/2027 admission arrangements for Community Infant, Junior and Primary schools

Back
November 14th 2024

Dear Parents,

The London Borough of Havering is conducting a consultation on the 2026/27 admission arrangements for Havering community Infant, Junior, and Primary schools. This consultation will run for six weeks, from Friday, 15 November 2024, to Friday, 3 January 2025.

There are no proposed changes to the oversubscription criteria for Havering community schools. However, the Local Authority is consulting on a proposed reduction to the Published Admission Number (PAN) at the following two schools:

Crownfield Junior School: Due to the previously agreed reduction in the PAN for Crownfield Infant School from 120 to 90, the Local Authority is required to consult on the subsequent reduction in the PAN for Crownfield Junior School from 120 to 90, effective from September 2026.

The RJ Mitchell Primary School: On 22 May 2024, the Office of School Adjudicators approved an in-year variation to reduce the PAN of The RJ Mitchell Primary School from 60 to 30 for the 2025/26 academic year. This consultation aims to make this reduction permanent from September 2026.

The proposed admissions arrangements can be found on the Havering Consultation page https://consultation.havering.gov.uk/education/admissions-crownfield-rjmitchells  or by scanning the QR code at the bottom of this message.

We encourage as many people as possible to participate in the consultation. Please read the proposed admissions arrangements and send any comments to schooladmissions@havering.gov.uk with the subject heading '2026/27 Consultation Response'.

Please note that Havering schools responsible for their own admissions may also be consulting on their admissions arrangements if they propose any changes or have not consulted in the last seven years. This includes all voluntary aided faith schools, foundation schools, and academies, including free schools. Schools can only change their arrangements if they consult; without consultation, they must remain unchanged.

Thank you for your participation.
