Year 7 Netball Team - Match Report

The Year 7 netball team had their first match of the season, playing at home against Brittons. This was an excellent warm up match to begin the season and provided a great opportunity to assess the abilities of our Year 7 players.

In the first quarter, Abs Cross took an early lead of 3-1, with Amariah scoring the lion’s share of the goals. Belle had an outstanding second quarter, which saw Abbs Cross extend their lead significantly to 7-1.

While our defence was not heavily tested on this occasion, Leah, our goalkeeper, and Nickoya, our goal defence, made some excellent interceptions to keep the opposition’s attack at bay. Evelina also delivered a strong performance as wing defence, cutting out many passes around the defensive semicircle and contributing effectively in the centre court.

The final score was an impressive 14-1. Abbs Cross should be extremely proud of this sensational start to the season. We look forward to seeing how the team continues to develop over the year. Well done, girls!
