English National Ballet Workshop - Creature

After being lucky enough to have watched 'Creature' digitally, performed by the wonderful English National Ballet in September, Abbs Cross Academy's year 10 and 11 GCSE Dance students, continued their learning, participating in a workshop, led by professional dancers along with live musicians.

In the Abbs Cross Academy Dance Studio, Dance students were taught technical exercises, linking directly to the action and dynamic content from the live performance of Creature, allowing students to travel across and around in the space, galloping, sliding, leaping and crawling.

All students participated in choreographing and developing motifs, sharing and creating choreographic ideas, in a trio; along with students from Marshalls Park School.  

The workshop was exciting, high energy and full of incredible choreographic ideas, approaches and exercises that our GCSE students can use and develop within their GCSE course.
