Year 7 Netball Rally

Year 7 Netball Rally – 12 th February
2024

On 12 th February 2024, the Year 7 girls netball team set out to Hornchurch to
compete in the Year 7 netball rally. As we arrived, we became very excited as we
greeted our primary school friends and I spotted some friends who play for my
netball team outside of school. After we said our hellos it was game time.
Our first match was against Sanders Draper School. As it was only our first match it
took a while to get together as a team, but when we did we lost only 2-1.
Our next match was against Hall Mead. Our attackers on court played very well, but
we just couldn’t quite get the ball to the shooters. The other teams’ players decided
to give player of the match to Cody for her amazing defence in goalkeeping.
We then played against Emerson Park. Although we lost 4-0, we stayed tight on our
players and defended very well. The players’ player of the match was Jasmine.
The penultimate match was played against St Edwards. As a result of brilliant
defence and clean passing we won 4–0!

Finally, our last match of the rally was against Coopers. We were under no illusion
that this was going to be our toughest match. We played our own game and didn’t
let our heads drop, but ended up losing 11–1. Although we didn’t get the result we
had hoped for, we know it is that taking part that counts and we can now build on this
going into next year.
