Year 10 Sports Day – July 2024

Back
July 15th 2024

The Year 10 Sports Day was an exciting, successful, and fiercely competitive event. In the morning session, the students signed up for athletics events in their form groups and competed in tough competitions throughout.

Students performed extremely well, and their form tutors should be proud. In the 800m girls’ race, the winner from 10B achieved an exceptional time of 3.20mins. Charlie was victorious in the boys’ race with an outstanding time of 2.27mins. In the sprint events, there was fierce competition among all students, with 10R and 10M winning the girls events and 10A being the winners in the boys’ races.

In the shot put competition, 10A were victorious in both the girls and boys events.  In the afternoon sessions, netball and football were the sports of the day. Students competed in tough competitions, resulting in very close points differentials. Every student participated in a round-robin tournament, gaining points for their form groups. It was lovely to see not only our GCSE students excelling in the athletics events but also some of our non-GCSE students putting themselves forward to gain points for their form groups. Students were extremely encouraging of one another throughout the day, supporting each other in various events.

Finally, we announced the winners of the overall competition for the day, and a huge well done and congratulations to Form 10R for emerging victorious. The overall places were as follows:

> 1st - 10R
> 2nd - 10A
> 3rd - 10B
> 4th - 10M
> 5th - 10C
> 6th - 10S
