During the trip pupils visited the Financial District and Wall Street to have an educational tour that details how financial decisions influence commercial banking, interest rates and exchange rates. The tour included a visit to the 9/11 memorial site where pupils could pay their respects and go up to the viewing platform on the 102nd floor to take in the views of Manhattan. Dinner was at the world-famous Ellen’s Stardust Diner where celebrities such as Kanye West, Katy Perry and even Donald Trump Jr visit frequently. The day ended by going up the Top of The Rock where pupils could take in the breath taking 360 views of New York.

Pupils enjoyed the visit to The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island where pupils learnt about the history of American immigration. Pupils were eager to try the various street foods on offer in New York ranging from Indianan, Jamaican to Mexican. Pupils were excited to go shopping and spent time to visit some retail businesses they are familiar with due to studying Business Studies such as Macey’s, Sephora and the NBA Store. During the evening pupils went to watch the New York Yankees play baseball. The pupils were all intrigued with how learning inside the classroom can be seen in practise in the busy streets of New York.
